Homework :)

Kia Ora Whanau and Tamariki,

New spelling lists are sent out every two weeks. The three things the children know to do are; LOOK at the word, SAY the word, WRITE the word.

Your tamariki should have a book to read each night however, this will not be a new book every night. Your tamariki will read the same book over two days as this helps to build fluency and comprehension.  They may bring some of their favourite books home to read as well.  If they chose to read one of their favourites instead of their new book this is OK.

On our 'websites' page there are educational webpages linked on the blog that the children use.  Click on the link and it will take you directly to the website.  This is what your child can use as maths, literacy and extension homework.

If you are looking for extra assistance with reading, writing and phonics there are some good apps available free on andriod and apple. Check the stars rating and the feedback left by other users of the apps, this should give you a good indication of whether the app is of quality or not.
The same applies for maths :)

Check out NZMaths for some home assistance NZMaths familes Click on this link and it will take you directly to the website and page.

Keep encouraging your tamariki to learn their full name, address and phone number.:)

Have a fun with your tamariki and enjoy learning at home.

Whaea Jaimee.
