This week at School is whanau read week! we would love to have parents & whanau from Room 4 come on in and help our tamariki with their reading and writing :)  Anytime from 9.30am -11am.

Scotty the Dinosaur at Te Manawa

Dinosaur visit!

Today we visited Te Manawa to see Scotty the Dinosaur! He was a bit scary and so life like! He had a huge roar! He even tried to eat Whaea Jaimee's hair!

We are using a new learning media website for the core curriculum areas called Skoolbo, Room 4 are loving it so far!

Each child has a unique user name and login password.

Skoolbo is a fantastic resource which can be used/downloaded on android and apple devices so you child can work on it at home too without the need of a computer!

This week is Mathletics week! Your child has their own special password which they can use to log on at home or school to practise and compete in maths challenges with thousands of other students around the world! Check it out at:

Kia ora whanau and tamariki!

I have just added a new maths website to the 'our websites' page.  It involves a bit of reading to find what you want to work on so it may be a good idea to have a older sibling or family member help out.
It is called IXL Year 3 maths practise. Enjoy!

Junior Team Treat Day

Rooms 4, 9 & 10 went to Te Manawa on Wednesday for Treat day.  

It was such a fun and exciting day with so many amazing parent helpers! :)

End of Term Treat

Room 4 decided that they would like to do some cooking for their end of Term class reward/treat.  The children all put their ideas forward of what they would like to cook. There were so many great ideas that the children had to vote on which one they would most like to have. Chocolate milkshakes and pizza were the winners!!

As part of making friendships, healthy eating and hygiene, Room 1 and 4 worked together to make fruit kebabs.

Hygeine is important

Room 4's wonderful health nurse came into the classroom on Friday to talk about how important it is to be brushing our hair and tying it up at school.

2014 update

Happy New Year!

As 2014 begins it brings change and new beginnings! I will no longer be the new entrant teacher or be in Room 10.  This blog will be changed into Room 4 and catered for year 3 students. I am looking forward to the change and hope you all are too! :)

I will keep the sites Room 10 uses up until the beginning of the school year, from then on they will be changed to cater to the higher learning abilities.

Enjoy the rest of the summer break and see you all in a few weeks!
